Akufo-Addo finally speaks on Public Universities Bill; hits backs at critics
President Akufo-Addo has reacted to concerns expressed about the proposed Public Universities Bill.
Speaking at the 11th congregation of the University of Professional Studies, Accra, he stated that the bill is good for tertiary institutions.
According to him, the bill would be introduced into Parliament to harmonise the administration of public universities.

As per a report by Myjoyonline.com, he noted that such arguments are “flimsy” and borne out of “mischief-making and are disingenuous.”
According to him, the bill states the cardinal importance of academic freedom.
President Akufo-Addo added that consultations on the bill have been completed and it will be submitted to the House in 2019.
